| The training program at the John Ondrush Golf Fitness Academy has improved my overall flexibility, strength and balance. The functional exercises targeted to golf specific muscles have helped me improve my core body strength and the power development in my golf swing. I make certain to get to his training facility at least 4-5 times a week to keep myself in shape for tournament play. I believe it is important for any playing professional or amateur to integrate golf fitness into their training program. John was able to analyze my swing on the 3-D motion system and work with me to develop a workout routine to get my body and swing in the proper sequence. We worked on strengthening my core stabilizer muscles and developing greater flexibility to maximize the efficiency in my golf swing. The exercises focus on balance, mobility, endurance and overall power. The combination of the 3-D system, along with video analysis is a great way to see how your body is performing in the swing. I have gotten amazing results from John’s program. I used to suffer from lower back issues and now I am able to swing freely without any pain. The exercises have helped me to develop so much more strength and flexibility than I ever thought possible. I am able to rotate my hips and create power from my lower body. My accuracy has improved significantly as well. I used to have difficulty playing one day a week, now I am out on the course 3 times a week! His facility is terrific. I generally stay after my workout to hit balls in one of the 4 indoor stalls. He has a full line of equipment to demo. I am in the best shape I have ever been since working with John and his trainers at the Golf Fitness Academy. My drives are going at least 20-30 yards further and I feel a tremendous difference in my stamina on the course, I also feel a lot more solid over the ball. The exercises are easy to follow and I see a continuing improvement week to week. Since my lower body is more stable in the golf swing, the program has also helped my putting and chipping by allowing me to stay in position and not swaying or sliding. My golf pro recommended that I see John and his staff for a fitness evaluation. It was an eye opening experience. I didn’t realize the importance of so many “core” muscles in the golf swing that I never used. He captured my swing on the 3-D computer motion system and I was amazed to see how my lower body was basically non-existent in the swing. Once I started the exercise program these muscles had a “rude awakening”. I realized I had just been using my arms for power in the golf swing. The rest of my body was staying dormant. Now that I have changed my swing using my hips, torso, and arms in the right sequence, my swing is more effortless and I am getting much more distance from all my clubs. My golf pro has seen a tremendous improvement and I feel much more solid over the ball. I made it to the finals of the club championship this year.
