John Ondrush, Founder Golf Fitness Academy
John Ondrush holds a degree in Physical Therapy from Suffolk Community College and is a certified golf fitness instructor, specializing in sports medicine, rehabilitation, as well as strength and conditioning for golfers. John is the only golf fitness professional in the country certified as a medical and fitness professional by the Titleist Performance Institute and also holds a position on the Callaway golf company’s master staff. He established the John Ondrush Golf Fitness Academy in Syosset, New York, as a golf specific rehabilitation and training center for golfers. John has provided hundreds of amateur and professional golfers with golf specific programs for rehabilitation and conditioning.
Over the last 16 years, John has completed many advance certification programs including The 2006 World Golf Fitness Summit Certification, The John Barnes Institute Manual Therapy Certification, and the “Pebble Beach Back to Golf” Advance Program for Physical Therapy and Golf Fitness; he is also an ACE certified personal trainer. His DVD, “Ten Steps to Golf Fitness” has been distributed nationwide and offers a comprehensive program for stretching and strengthening. His articles have been featured in Golfer Magazine and LI Golfer. John can be seen on his golf fitness show on Channel 12 every week during the golf season.
Jo-Ann Drucker, Director of Operations/Trainer
Jo-Ann Drucker is a Titleist certified golf fitness instructor and an ACE certified personal trainer. She specializes in strength and conditioning, injury prevention, and rehabilitation as they relate to golf. She has worked under the leadership of John Ondrush, training golfers of all fitness and skill levels reach their peak performance. Her background in functional fitness has allowed her to focus on core strength training, balance; flexibility and coordination while helping her clients incorporate exercise into their everyday life.
Jo-Ann draws her experience from a varied career base which includes training, management and marketing. She holds an MBA in Management/Finance from Hofstra University and a BA from The State University of New York at Binghamton. She holds additional certifications in injury prevention for golfers, conditioning for runners, as well as strength training for women. Jo-Ann is a sports enthusiast who enjoys golf, cycling, scuba diving, running and has completed several marathons. She is a member of the Metropolitan Woman's Golf Association and the Executive Women's Golf Association.
Kenny Hublitz—Trainer, PGA Professional
Kenny Hublitz is a certified personal trainer and a PGA Professional. He has worked with hundreds of golfers helping them with their swing mechanics and overall consistency on the course. He is certified in 3-D motion analysis and biomechanics of the swing. He utilizes his expertise in computer and video swing analysis to develop an easy to follow instructional approach for all his clients. His background in both fitness training and golf technique has helped him to understand the physical attributes of the body and how they relate to the golf swing. He holds a Bachelors Degree from Briarcliff College. He has participated in several sprint triathlons and enjoys strength and conditioning. Kenny specializes in the design and implementation of clinics and training programs for junior golfers.
Michael O'Connor, Physical Therapist
Michael graduated in 1996 with a bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from Downstate SUNY. Michael specializes in physical therapy for golf related injuries as well as strength and conditioning for golfers. Mike has been working with John at the Academy for over ten years, and has completed advanced programs including Back to Golf, John Barnes Institute Manual Therapy and the McKenzie Program. Mike is an expert in rehabilitating golfers and slowly working them back into condition so they are able play with out pain or restrictions.
